About the Practice
MacArthur Barstow and Gibbs was founded in 1956 in Droitwich by Frank Moody. At the time it was predominantly a farm practice with very little small animal work. The work gradually increased and in 1976 Alistair MacArthur joined the partnership.
The Claines Veterinary Clinic was purchased and shortly afterwards two more partners, Stephen Barstow and Anne Gibbs, joined Alistair in what had become a thriving mixed practice. They were further joined by Michal Moolman in 2004 and Phil Whiteley in 2006. The equine and farm work is undertaken by Partners Anne Gibbs and Phil Whiteley and Associates Carole and Natalie. The small animal work is undertaken by Partners Michal Moolman and Steven Barstow and Associates Sarah, Carol, Robert, Alison, Sarah and Jane.
About the Practice Standards Scheme
This practice is proud to be an approved member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme. As an accredited practice, we have passed an inspection carried out by an experienced veterinary surgeon focusing on a range of areas, including hygiene, health and safety, clinical governance and the facilities we provide, to name just few of the many criteria.
The practice will be reinspected every four years and we will be subject to spot-checks in the meantime, so we have to keep on our toes. The Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary initiative - not all practices are part of it yet. RCVS accreditation means that as a client you can rest assured that our practice offers a high quality of care - in those bits of the practice you can see - and those that you can't.
