Cryosurgery

Cryosurgery is a procedure involving the freezing of tissues, thereby killing the tissue and allowing it to fall away. We do this using a liquid nitrogen spray jet dispenser.

It is a procedure that is very useful for the removal of superficial growths as it is a less painful process than surgery and can often be carried out without a general anaesthetic. Cryosurgery is also one of the main techniques employed in the treatment of furunculosis, this is a deep infection commonly found in the perianal area of German Shepherd Dogs.

If you would like any further information regarding cryosurgery please ring and speak to Stephen Barstow, who will be happy to advise you.
